In addition to Templafy’s standard integrations, organizations can also build and connect their own content repositories.

With Content Connectors, Templafy can integrate with one or more external content sources.

We have already discussed how standard integrations make it easy to integrate with some of the most popular DAM, CRM, and CMS platforms, as well as how we can help build a unique Content Connector, allowing for white glove customization.

Beyond these options, Templafy also provides API access, which companies can use to build and connect their own content repositories. Using these APIs, organizations can create their own integrations to automate content changes between their systems and Templafy.

How does Templafy’s custom Content Connector API work?

Unlike the Content Connectors, which displays content that is stored within the client’s own asset management system, Templafy’s Public API enables customers to send their content into the Templafy Library itself.

To get started, Templafy will provide the APIs for developers to work with. Developers can then use the APIs to push assets such as documents, templates, images, and more into the Templafy Library.

Benefits of using Templafy’s Public APIs

For companies with highly specialized internal workflows — including companies with specific concerns around security and content ownership — using Templafy’s APIs provides additional control and customization for integration.

If your organization is highly dependent on a DAM or other content system, you likely have many existing workflows, permission structures, asset expiry and renewals, and rich metadata search. Migrating content from your native content system into another asset system risks breaking existing workflows.

Additionally, Templafy’s APIs will use your native content system functionality, so users will only be able to see the assets they would normally have access to. When a user searches in the content connector, that will use the native search functionality of your system which will pick up on all rich metadata and document text.

With Templafy APIs you can maintain all of these existing processes while still connecting content throughout your organization via the Templafy Library.

Benefits of using Templafy’s Public APIs

  1. Synchronize asset management systems
Using the API, clients can automatically synchronize images, templates, and other content assets between their external DAM system and Templafy, eliminating the need for an IT admin to manually upload files.
  2. Automate daily pricing updates in PowerPoint
If you have a standard presentation that needs to be updated regularly — for example with new pricing information — you can automate this action using the API.
  3. Automatically upload approved content
Set your own approval processes for new content, and the API will automatically upload them once all approvals have been given.
